Heaven on Earth

Another gray day in Oxford. I really had forgotten how abysmal the English summer weather could be. So after dealing with another domestic situation - a new washing machine has been ordered - Colin and I went off to get a caffeine fix at Blackwell's Bookstore.

They boast serving "the finest espresso this side of Milan". Don't know about that, but the view was interesting.

This is the air-conditioning - an open window. Actually, it's really weird because, as there usually isn't any A/C, it can get uncomfortably stuffy inside stores, even on cool, cloudy days.

And here's the cappuccino. Unfortunately, I had to gulp it down as they closed at 6pm and so we got kicked out. This is no Borders...

Have just come in from pruning roses at 91 degrees, high humidity. Cool and gray sounds good. We did have rain most of yesterday , though.
